To support Network Rail’s preparation for Electric vehicle roll out, Crayside Consulting were appointed to complete the detailed design of Electric Vehicle Charging Points (EVCP’s) at various Network Rail Depots.

Following the topographical survey, our team undertook intrusive surveys to assess existing capacity and asset condition whilst appraising the requirements for the EVCP installation in accordance to design standards.

Following the completion of surveys, our team produced survey reports and held an internal findings meeting to handover the scheme to our design team that highlighted the nuances of each site.

In order to accelerate the design process for Network Rail, we developed standardized design detail to sites in which shared similarities.

Key Design Elements:

  • Intrusive surveys including containment, duct route and turning chamber surveys in accordance with electrical design
  • Existing DNO and Depot Power Supply Assessment
